Begin with a computer opponent
Choose VS AI in the game menu. Set the strength level and your color, then start the board. Strength level 1 is the lowest setting. You can close the optional nickname prompt to continue to the menu.
Click a piece, then a legal destination. After the reply, check the changed squares and whether your king is in check before choosing another move.
Make room for your pieces
A central pawn move can open a route for a bishop or queen. A knight can develop without first moving a pawn in front of it. Consider what the move uncovers as well as where the moving piece lands.
Expand keeps the whole board in view with an optional select-then-move reminder at the side. Online matchmaking, private rooms and the full puzzle collection are outside this computer-game guide.
Quick controls and leaving the game
Before the next move, look for an attacked piece and any check on your king. A legal move is not always a safe move.
Choose Exit game in the toolbar to close the player. Reload opens a fresh game window and may end the current attempt. Reading a control card does not pause the game.
